Scranton Manufacturing and its New Way Cobra Magnum® will be featured Friday evening on National Geographic’s television show, “Showdown of the Unbeatables.”
The Cobra truck will be paired against the custom cases produced by Calzone Case Company of Bridgeport, CT. Calzone began making drum cases in the 1970s and now provides custom-made cases for not only the music industry, but also the military and medical fields.
A year ago, employees at Scranton Manufacturing crushed a Grand Am in the back of a New Way Cobra. The video was posted to YouTube, resulting in the invitation from National Geographic producers. Filming of “Showdown of the Unbeatables” was done in Las Vegas, NV, last November.
Other episodes of the show have demonstrated the power of a steamroller to run over a piano, tested a padlock by using it to link chains attached to a tank in tow, and the like.
“Showdown of the Unbeatables” airs Friday at 8 pm CST. Jefferson Telecom cable customers will find it on channel 97.
